主要从事牧草栽培与育种方面的研究工作，包括饲草种质资源创新与利用、抗逆基因挖掘、牧草生物育种、草种生产关键技术研发等。

主持省部级项目4项，其中国家发改委“揭榜挂帅”项目课题1项、青海省自然科学基金青年基金项目1项、科技特派员专项项目1项、青海省种业创新攻关“揭榜挂帅”项目1项。以第一作者和通讯作者在《BMC Genomics》《草业学报》等主流期刊发表学术论文10余篇，其中SCI 2篇，中文核心7篇，CSCD 7篇。育成4个品种，授权发明专利1项、实用新型专利3项，鉴定科研成果10个，制定标准3项。获省科技进步二等奖1项。
